Carry On Up the Jungle (1970)

Jungle movies get the Carry On treatment, with Sid James as a boozing safari guide and hunter who can’t seem to hit anything but one of his bearers; Terry Scott as Ugh, a Tarzan-like individual who finds his “June” in Jacki Piper, the companion to Lady Evelyn Bagley (Joan Sims), who has come on safari hoping to find her long-lost son; Charles Hawtrey as Lady Bagley’s husband, thought killed by a crocodile but in fact kept for years by a tribe of Amazons led by Valerie Leon; and Frankie Howerd and Bernard Bresslaw as an ornithologist and his servant, who find a rare bird in the wilds. Not the strongest entry in the series, but it provided some laughs.

Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.

Movie 395 for 2021.
