Poster for the movie Escape in the Fog

Escape in the Fog (Columbia, 1945)

A shell-shocked nurse (Nina Foch) recovering from her trauma has a vivid dream in which she sees a young man being attacked on a foggy bridge while she stands nearby. When she later meets the young man (William Wright at the hotel where she and he are both convalescing, her vision sets the stage for romance…but could it mean something more as well, especially as the young man proves to be a secret agent and there are indeed people out to get him? An odd little film, especially with regard to the central role of the initial dream. There’s a nice bit involving a grandfather clock, too.

Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.

Movie 101 for 2021.
