Hercules (Mark Forest) is in love with a village maiden who is actually the rightful princess of Poland, hidden away years before by her father to protect her in the face of the Mongol invasion, but she unfortunately is captured by the nomads. Infighting among the sons of Genghis Khan provides an opportunity for the Poles to attempt to recapture a town held by the Mongols, and for Hercules to try to save his beloved, although he has vowed to give her up so that she can take her place as head of her country. Standard peplum stuff from late in the fad, buoyed by a menacing performance by Ken Clark as one of the sons. Original title: Maciste nell’inferno di Gengis Khan.
Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
Movie 508 for 2021.
