Nick Adams heads the cast in this giant monster tale, originally released by Toho in 1965 as Furankenshutain tai chitei kaijû Baragon and therefore also known as Frankenstein vs. Baragon. And a strange tale it is: As the end of World War 2 nears, the Germans send the living heart of the Frankenstein monster to Japan, where it will prove the fodder for experimentation. The destruction of Hiroshima results, apparently, in the loss of the heart, but that is not the last of it, and years later, it seems that it is somehow connected with a feral boy who grows to be a giant. The gargantuan boy proves a sympathetic monster, and eventually he ends up fighting a giant reptilian monster (Baragon). Not the best of the kaiju movies, but watchable.
Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
Movie 505 for 2021.
