Aeneas (Steve Reeves) and his followers, refugees from the sack of Troy, seek a place to settle in the lands of King Latinus (Mario Ferrari), but though the monarch is willing, some of his allies — most notably the proud, hot-tempered Turnus (Gianni Garko), but also the warrior queen Camilla (Liana Orfei) — oppose giving them land. Even as Aeneas finds romance with Lavinia (Carla Marlier), daughter of King Latinus, treachery and ire lead to armed conflict. An entertaining film based, of course, on the Aeneid, the movie was originally titled La leggenda di Enea.
Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
Movie 454 for 2021.
