Three guys who sneak aboard a yacht end up traveling with a criminal on the run and shipwrecked on a remote island after the vessel is attacked by a giant crustacean. One young man is searching for his brother, and the presence of crooks on the island, as well as Godzilla asleep in a cave, leads to confrontations and eventually, with the advent of Mothra as well, a rousing climax. There’s nothing outstanding here, but it is reasonably enjoyable. Also known as Ebirah, Horror of the Deep, the movie was originally titled Gojira, Ebirâ, Mosura: Nankai no daiketto.

  Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
