Peter Lupus (under the name Rock Stevens) plays the titular strongman in this sword-and-sandal picture, originally titled Ercole contro i tiranni di Babilonia. The plot involves his efforts to free the Queen of the Hellenes (Anna Maria Polani) and others who have been enslaved by the wicked ruler of Babylon (Livio Lorenzen), brother of the king of Assyria (Tullio Altamura), and his evil queen (Helga Liné). Lupus has a suitable physique but doesn’t really stand out in the role, in a movie that delivers much of what one expects from a peplum.
Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
Movie 418 for 2021.
