Lobby card for the movie A Face in the Fog

A Face in the Fog (Victory, 1936)

A newspaper reporter, Jean Monroe (June Collyer), sets herself up as a target by rashly claiming knowledge about “the Fiend,” a killer who is terrorizing the cast of a show at the Alden Theatre. A fellow reporter, Frank Gordon (Lloyd Hughes), joins in the investigation, as the murderer continues his crimes and attempts to strike Jean down as well. In the meantime, the author of the play, Peter Fortune (Lawrence Gray), conducts his own inquiry. Who is the cloaked figure who uses invisible bullets to commit his foul deeds? Reasonably entertaining, albeit nothing extraordinary.

Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.

Movie 388 for 2021.
