The kindly and creepy giant statue of the god Majin once again comes to life to wreak vengeance in this movie from Daiei, also known as Wrath of Daimajin. This time around, much of the movie is a quest by a few young boys (and one’s sister) to rescue their fathers, who are being held as slave labor by a local warlord. The children’s journey is fraught with danger, and despite some elements of humor, the film makers did not shrink from showing more serious moments as well, all leading up to the climactic rampage by Majin.

  Recommended. Otto finds this one pleasing enough to relax.
