Poster for the movie Cat-Women of the Moon

Cat-Women of the Moon (1953)

A lethargic and puffy Sonny Tufts may be top-billed, but Victor Jory is really the hero of this space opera, as a manned expedition to the moon encounters lunar Amazons. When most members of the crew fall prey to the aliens’ powers, whether dominated mentally or led on by empty promises, it’s up to second-in-command Kip Reissner (Jory) to foil the plot and free his comrades, especially his beloved Helen (Marie Windsor), who is vulnerable to mental control by the cat-women. Douglas Fowley has a decent, if typical, role as a greedy member of the Terran crew.

Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.

Movie 170 for 2021.
