Some sort of inexplicable illness is carrying off inhabitants of a Cornwall village, and the young doctor there (Brook Williams) is unable to prevent the deaths. Fortunately for him and eventually for the rest of the villagers, famed doctor Sir James Forbes (Andre Morrell), whose daughter is a close friend of the young doctor’s wife, comes for a visit and offers his help in getting to the bottom of what is going on — even as death and evil strike ever closer. This is a minor Hammer film that’s a bit scattered but nevertheless effective overall.

  Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
