Bud and Lou are two volunteer firemen who rescue a man attempting suicide (Tom Ewell) on account of disappointment in love. When it turns out that the man has an incredibly wealthy gold claim up north, the boys accompany him back to help him win the gal (and to get some of the gold, of course). But things are not so simple: a foolish will gives all the other sourdoughs and also crooks motivation to kill the prospector, and the woman in the matter really does seem to have no particular interest in him. Will the boys be able to keep their man alive and collect? Secondary but fun Abbott & Costello outing.

  Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.
