Mission to Venice (1964)

In Mission to Venice, a woman who says she’s the wife of one of his father’s old friends persuades young Michael Newman (Sean Flynn, son of Errol Flynn) to head to Venice to look for her husband, who has disappeared. He learns from the authorities that the missing Paul TrĂ©gard is thought to be a traitor, though his wife denies that, and Newman goes in search of him anyhow. Newman soon finds himself mixed up with a gang of ruthless international criminals, and there’s treachery and fighting and suspicious characters and twists along the way. The movie isn’t really a standout, but Flynn makes an acceptable lead and the plot holds the viewer’s interest reasonably well.

Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.

Movie 95 for 2021.
