Dismal comedy from PRC stars Harry Langdon and Charley Rogers, here portraying hapless losers, fired from their jobs at a newspaper, hoping to land a big story on their own as reporters covering the invention of a new machine gun. The gun, of course, is the target of those who would steal it, and the newspaper’s ace reporter is at the same time trying to score an interview with the inventor. But the structure is choppy, the humor isn’t very funny, and the story staggers from scene to scene with little coherence: for example, one whole sequence takes place in a flophouse for no particular reason save to provide material for comedy that falls flat.
