Poster for the movie Playgirls and the Vampire

The Playgirls and the Vampire (1960)

A traveling theatrical troupe that skipped out on its last hotel bill is forced by a storm to take refuge at an isolated castle, despite being warned against it, and there’s soon cause for them to regret their choice. Something strange is going on in the castle, and it means peril, but possibly also romance, for some among the visitors. The Playgirls and the Vampire (original title: L’ultima preda del vampiro) is a decent horror movie overall, with the explanation for what’s going on a bit unexpected, although it does get a bit slow in the middle, and Walter Brandi is rather stiff as the count who owns the castle.

Mildly recommended. Otto judiciously thinks this movie is OK, but not great.

Movie 62 for 2021.
