In this bizarre post-apocalyptic movie that really owes nothing but its title to H. Rider Haggard’s classic fantasy adventure tale, Sandahl Bergman plays the leader of one tribe. As their goddess, she routinely kills those chosen in a ritual to be her lovers. Things change, however, when two brothers, whose sister has been abducted by the even-more-evil Norks, fall afoul of She but turn the tables on her, abducting her to show them the way to the Nork citadel. Soon, the brothers, together with She and her loyal bodyguard, embark on a quest through strange territories, encountering their odd denizens, such as a giant, a mad scientist, and a duplicating robot, until they can reach the fortress of the Norks and rescue the imprisoned sister. Italian movie stalwart Gordon Mitchell is on hand as the leader of the Norks. Weirdness is piled upon weirdness, to little effect but fatigue, and the battle scenes are rather unsatisfactory as well.
Not recommended. Otto thinks you should avoid this movie.
Movie 48 for 2021.
